Trav and Jawsh
October 14, 2009
Never neglect the strength of the internet and a simple discussion board. Its fascinating how a forum can create a close circle of great young minds from different parts of the world. Over the last 4 years I’ve gotten to meet and know some of the dopest individuals through this medium. Josh and Trav have gone a long way in a short time; featured by Tone as his latest interview/project, Street Etiquette is undoubtedly on top of my favorites and just a bookmark away from yours. Watch the vimeo, hear what they gotta say, and listen to the best song ever composed: Kind of Blue by Miles.
Field Jacket
October 13, 2009
In a search for the perfect field jacket for Fall. It comes as no surprise I turned to Jesse (Penfield) to fill the void. He was kind enough to let me run through his Spring/Summer samples to discover the Lockwood jacket part of the Trailwear Label. Created in the 70’s, TRAILWEAR is a range that symbolises the heritage and quality of those early years, and the spirit of what Penfield still stands for, which obviously played an imposing influence on my final decision. And to top off the already convincing feats, it is made of Hudson wax cloth, allowing it to be waterproof, breathable, windproof and fast wicking (gets rid of moisture quicker). Big thanks to Jesse for the hookup and make sure you look out for the Spring line when it drops.

Raised by Wolves: Fall 2009 Collection
September 29, 2009

So today, the new Raised by Wolves website went up in coordination with their Fall 2009 drop. For this collection, entitled Black Ice, I was fortunate enough to get a chance to help shoot the lookbook with all of our closest friends here in Ottawa. Black Ice features collaborations with the likes of La Messie, Mike Jones from Mishka and Actual Pain. You can be sure to check out the collection and buy a tee from their online store, here.
a suit…really?
September 28, 2009
In a chitchat with Marcus, he asked me this question: What do you think you will be wearing in a year from now? The question was the beginning to a series of confusing thoughts in my head. I stood there baffled by that seemingly banalĀ inquiry. “I have a feeling you’ll be wearing a suit or something…” he proceeded. Those words which first seemed foolish and humorous soon became not as farfetched as they resonated in my head for a few days. I found in the depths of a forgotten closet of my house, a pair of vintage brown leather oxford shoes (WITH a wooden sole). They were almost too beautiful to be unworn. However, the only manner to be wearing them would be completed with a nice light toned suit. I caught myself in the midst of searching for a suit on Jcrew and actually found 2 to perfectly assemble the outfit I had imagined…Marcus you know something on and beyond my own knowledge hahaha

Norml | Penfield Pop-Up
September 22, 2009
So a few weeks back Ian Kennedy of Tiger Distro alongside most of the Montreal retail mafia invaded Ottawa. I wasn’t really too sure what was actually happening because I’ve been pretty out of the loop since I’ve parted ways with Norml back in January, but I got an email from Yann today asking me if I could help shoot some photos of the new Penfield Pop-Up shop. Without prior knowledge of what the space looked like, I figured I’d try my best to help pull through with a few shots especially since Ian has always been one of my favourite dudes in the industry. Upon entering the space, I was quite awe-struck. What Ian has done with the space is nothing short of incredible. Anyhow without further ado, here’s what you can expect to find when you roll into the Norml x Penfield pop-up shop.
